The
Power of Decision! Do
you want to have more power in your life? I sure
do. What am I referring to? The power that will
make you successful and help you to have more time
and energy... The power to give up a destructive
habit in your life or to pick up good habits in
your life. Do
you think that you can make a decision right now
that will cause your present situation to get
worse? I’m sure that we can all answer that
question with a yes! If
that is true, and it is, then do you think that
you can make a decision right now to make your
present situation better? Again, I’m sure that we
can answer that question with a
yes. So, if that is true, and it
is, then why not think of a decision right now
that will help you out in the long run. What kind
of a decision can you make right now that can
literally change your life? -
Think about just one habit that you can get rid of
that will improve your life, and concentrate on
accomplishing it right now. -Set your target date, right
it down, and put it in front of you. Then stick to
your decision until you accomplish it. Sounds easy
doesn’t it? It will require that you be strong,
but guess what. You will gain power from it for
the next change you decide to make. -If you will do this
methodically and consistently, just imagine the
growth you will realize in a year’s
time. I
developed my business- Freedom Choices Enterprises
on the premise that life is about making the right
choices. The proper way to state this is- Life is
about making the right DECISIONS. You always have
a choice between the right decision, the decision
that will take you closer to your desired outcome,
or the wrong decision that will lead you further
away from your desired outcome. Some choices have
short term effects or consequences and some have
long term effects. Ultimately, though, I believe
that most choices that are before you really have
long term effects when you consider the big
picture. - The concept of sowing and reaping comes
to mind. Are you the kind of person
that really enjoys working out, or exercising in
some fashion? I am. I really enjoy the feeling I
get from working out regularly. When you are
consistent at something, you get better and
stronger at it. I teach my kids this concept with
their sports. My oldest son likes to play baseball
and he understands the value of practicing to get
better at it. The more you do it, the stronger you
get at it. Have you heard that your body cells
total replaces themselves over about a seven year
period? Well, your new cells are at the level of
maturity of the cell that was replaced. This means
that you can constantly grow in your abilities
Your new cells“ remember” the new things you have
learned. Take playing the guitar or something like
that. If you’re practicing regularly, your new
cells are already trained to the level that you’re
at in that moment. Then you continue to learn and
get better, you continue to gain more
ability. Well, this holds true in
making the right decision too. The more you
“exercise” making the right decision when faced
with a choice, the stronger you will become at it.
You are never just “standing still”. You are
either learning and growing stronger by making
more right decisions, or you are growing weaker by
making the wrong decisions. I
like to use the analogy of gardening. I know some
of will smart off and say to your self, “I don’t
grow a garden; I just go buy my stuff at the
store.” Well, that may be true, but you are
planting seeds with your thoughts, with your
words, with your decisions and with your actions.
So stick with me here on the gardening analogy.
When you want a red pepper, you plant a red pepper
seed. You know that, in order for that seed to
grow and flourish, you must prepare the soil. You
have the choice not to, but your decision will
effect what you will ultimately get for a harvest.
You continue to face choices, for which you must
make the right decision to finally get to the
harvest that you want. You must water the seed,
keep the weeds from choking it out, and keep the
bugs from eating it up. So many choices, so many
right decisions must be made to finally get your
desired harvest. Then you must actually harvest it
when it is ripe. Only then will you enjoy the
fruit of your labor. The fruit that comes from
making the correct decisions through out the whole
process. Everything in life is full of
choices for which you must make the right
decision. How do you want your marriage to look 50
years from now? How must you treat your spouse
today and next week, and through out the year to
accomplish this? How do you want your relationship
with your children to look in 30 years? Again, you
must be making the right decisions now to get your
desired outcome. How much money do you want to
have at retirement? When do you want to retire? Everything in this life is
about choices, and the decision(s) you make with
those choices. Most decisions have long term
effects and many choices inherently have an
allotted amount of time from sowing the seed to
when you reap the harvest. There are no microwave
solutions. Sowing seeds and reaping the harvest is
always accompanied by the growing period which is
totally effected by he decisions made through out
the whole process. For great success, you need to
make calculated decisions, based on a plan of
action. Then you must stick to the plan. You must
take action on your plan, or you are making the
wrong decision that will effect the
outcome. My
goal with this article is to help people who are
interested in learning, to take control of the
decisions they make and effect their whole life in
a positive way by making the right decisions. This
is the Power of Decision. The decisions you make
really do effect your whole life, good or bad. You
can choose the right decision, and you can choose
the right decision every single time. Will
you? By
